Be your own kind of crazy

I have struggled using acrylics as backgrounds so I forced myself to start there.
I still put gesso over the acrylics to tone the colour down, my usual response unfortunately.
The stamp is a Penny Black stamp and the dollar store lettering says, "be your own kind of crazy" which seems to be one of my fav quotes these days.
Thank you all for the love and support I have been getting. One day I might actually be an art journaller. It is starting to feel that way.

Day 4

This is a page I have been working on for a couple of days. I think I will even re-create this again in the near future.
There is a sign in my son's Day Program that says this: "amongst our people we are all the same height". The school is named after a Native Tribe so I don't know if this is a Native reference or not as I could not find it on google.
I love the reference to equality and the story the one single phrase suggests.

Day 4

Exploring acrylic inks and how they flow around raised stencils.

Day Three

The space between our wicked lies is where we hope to keep safe from pain.  ~ Dave Matthews

Day two Art Journal

When you have only two pennies left in the world,
buy a loaf of bread with one,
and a lily with the other ~ Chinese Proverb

I guess the idea is you need to nourish your body as well as your soul.  A good daily reminder.
